About Coach Klaas

Klaas De Waal has been a business owner and coach for more than four decades on two continents with a career that was divided into two sections, Publishing and Coaching.  Since the late seventies he has been the CEO and Publisher of his own publishing and consultancy companies in the Netherlands and in the U.S.  As a leader in communications he first built a newspaper and marketing PR company in the Netherlands. After moving to the New York area in 1993 he built a new company, International Media Group, Inc. into a well-established B2B magazine publishing house for large worldwide industries.

A few examples include the esteemed magazine, International Fiber Journal, well known in the large global manmade chemical fiber producer’s industry. International Filtration News is also considered a world leader in communications for the beneficial filtration and separation industry. Lastly, Catering Magazine, is published for the catering and event industries and considered the leading nationwide magazine in the U.S.

Klaas has served as advisor to many important global trade organizations in the world. He has been a board member of many industry associations and a frequent key-note speaker on important topics that helped improve these organizations. Beside his publishing activities he also built a successful coaching practice in the New York Tri-State area. Much of the coaching activities were centered around executive, career and life coaching, business re-organization, owner exit strategies, mediation services and mergers and acquisitions.

While working hard as a business owner, he also volunteered his time to organizations such as the United Way and a community counseling and mediation agency, serving as Chairman and Board member, which helped improve people’s lives.

Klaas understands the connections between career success and failure, the links between work issues and stress, and the power of feeling secure instead of insecure. He combines in-depth knowledge of management related issues with proven stress management techniques to turn anxiety into assets, fear into confidence and thoughts into realities. His work merges modern techniques with teachings from both eastern and western schools of thought.

Using his unique combinations of skills in business and coaching allows him to identify with his client’s challenges and aspirations.

His love for coaching as a profession lies in the fact that it is profoundly different from consulting, mentoring, advice, therapy, or counseling.

The coach does not propose a solution and leave you to implement it.

Instead they help you integrate the changes, new skills, and goals making sure they really happen. This is one reason why coaching is so effective. It is one thing to have the information and quite another to actually make the change!

After many years of seeing the improvements in his client’s lives, Klaas feels thankful and motivated to continue this work believing that all relationship, career and business endeavors are sacred.

Working as a coach, his ultimate goal is to motivate and improve people’s lives and create True Health, True Wealth and True Love…
